Meet Jake: the Hanahan Fire Department’s latest and most celebrated addition!
When Jake was just 3 weeks old, he was rescued from a barn fire by local firefighter Bill Linder. Jake suffered burns to 75% of his body, and had to be eventually abandoned by his owners at the vet due to their inability to pay for all the vet care. Luckily, Bill caught wind of this and immediately adopted Jake.
It didn’t take long for Jake to recover with all the love he received at the fire department, and now Jake has become the official mascot of the department, and is being trained as an Arson Detection Dog. He even has his own badge! Nowadays Jake also often goes to schools to help kids learn about fire safety.
Great work , Bill; and way to go, Jake!
